It was move day from La Conner Thousand Trails over to Swinomish Market & Casino in Anacortes, Washington (which was only a seven mile trip). The sun was shining brightly and the temperature was 59 degrees, heading to 67 degrees in the afternoon.
We arrived at the Swinomish Casino at noon, and it was too early to get checked into the campground, so we decided to park the RV in the front parking lot at the casino. We then went inside to get signed up for new player cards.
With our new player cards, we each received a $10 toward dining offer, a dining Discount starting of 15% daily on one meal item; and $5 in free slot play. Since it was lunch time, we decided to eat at Manchu WOK inside the casino.
We each had a two-entrée plate for $11.99. I had the Beef & Broccoli and General Tso's Chicken with rice and noodles. I don't remember what Mel had. Using both of our $10 toward dining offers, it only cost us $4. Pretty good deal!
After lunch, we went back over to the Swinomish Casino and Lodge and checked into the campground, which featured 33 full hook-up RV sites overlooking Padilla Bay and the Swinomish Channel with views of Mount Baker and the Cascade Mountains.
We got set up on site# 16 for one night for around $40.
Then around 4:00 p.m. we went over to the casino for happy hour. Later we ate dinner at the classic American cuisine of Carver’s Café inside the casino. This Café also featured historical Swinomish photos and décor hand-carved by Swinomish tribal members.
I had the 3-piece fried halibut dinner with fries and cole slaw (see above), while Mel had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and broccolini (see below). We got to use our 15% discount for one meal item so that saved us a little.
Luck at the casino shines on Mel tonight!
