A few days before we left Colorado to head to my 50th high school class reunion, the committee that had organized the reunion posted the below picture on the Facebook website.
The picture shows the committee members for the 1973/1974 Perry High School Class Reunion (from left to right, Mike Lind; Joelle (Conklin) Miner; Lila (Davis) Lind; Diane (Carr) West; Connie (Knepper) Sheehy; and Cheri (Tice) Scheib.
Shown below is the Iris Folding Paper design I created of the Perry Blue Jay mascot to take with me to the class reunion.
We left at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17 from Matheson, Colorado and headed to Iowa (which was about 650 miles).
Oh what a beautiful sunrise we saw as we began our journey!!!
The trip was a rather long one (around 11 hours) and we only made stops to get fuel, eats and bathroom breaks. We lost an hour due to the time zone change from Mountain to Central, but we made it to Martie and Karen's house in Pleasant Hill, Iowa by 6:30 p.m.
I'm anxiously looking forward to seeing my high school classmates -- the last class reunion I went to was back in 1989 (my 15th class reunion). The class of 1974 rules!
