WARM, SUNNY & HITTING THE BIKE TRAIL AGAIN IN CASPER, WY - Monday, April 17, 2023

Once again another warm day in Casper, WY and we are still waiting for our truck to be fixed. So nothing better than to take another bike ride on the fabulous trails here. It was 48 degrees when we woke up this morning, and now it is 66 degrees with occasional gusts of wind. Our bike ride today once again took us along the Platte River Trail, and then we ventured off to the Three Crowns Golf Club to ride the bike path all-around the golf course.

Three Crowns Golf Club (see the green spot in the map below) resides on the Platte River Commons, an award-winning remediation property created for the purpose of transforming a former Amoco Oil Refinery site into a recreational area.

The Three Crowns name comes from BP Amoco's old logo which was crowns of gold, white and red, representing the three different grades of gasoline sold by the company, and the course sits above land still contaminated with millions of gallons of refinery products which will continue to be recovered for years to come.

My bicycle trek was 12 miles in a little over two hours, according to my Garmin watch (and shown on the map above). Below are a couple views of the golf course from the bike path.

And finally another view of the beautiful snow-covered mountain range here in Casper, WY.

Keep on trekking,

Shirley & Me
